Two hair transplant quotes can look different because they use different charging models. A per-graft fee, a session fee and a package price need to be compared with the proposed care and inclusions. The lowest headline number is not necessarily the lowest total cost.

Understand the unit being quoted
A graft is a follicular unit and is not always a single hair. Ask whether a quoted number refers to grafts, hairs, a proposed maximum or an assessed range. Clarify how the count is recorded and what happens if the final clinical plan differs from the original estimate.
What does a per-graft quote include?
Ask whether the fee includes the assessment, facility, clinical team, medication and follow-up. Check whether there is a minimum fee or a separate charge for another session. A calculation based on grafts alone does not establish safe donor harvesting or appropriate coverage.
What does a package quote include?
A package can combine clinical care with hotel nights, transfers or care products. Ask for an itemised description and exclusions, even if the provider gives only one total price. Confirm the surgeon’s responsibilities separately from the travel arrangements.
Put two proposals on the same basis
- Compare the proposed treatment area and coverage.
- Clarify whether the figures describe grafts or hairs.
- Check the clinician’s role at each stage.
- List included reviews, medication and travel services.
- Record exclusions, cancellation terms and additional care costs.
Allow the examination to come first
A provider should be able to explain when it can give a reliable estimate and how the examination might change the plan. An advertised graft target should not override donor safety or create pressure to take more hair than is appropriate.
